Sometimes you wonder, especially after a really long day, you wonder how your children see you. Do they only see the person who makes them study, who won’t let them quit even when it’s hard, the person who makes them clean their rooms, or the person who makes them eat vegetables–every day? And just when the frown is deep into your forehead thinking of these things, your children sneak up on you giggling, yell “surprise,” and hand you fistfuls of flowers from the backyard. And your little boy beams proudly as the vase you choose to put them in is the black, because “you love black,” bowl he made in art class. And you know that at least sometimes, your children think you are the greatest person in the world.
